Reading for War

Tribe | Grounded Curiosity

By The Cove October 23, 2019

Exiting news! The Junior Officer's Book Shelf has merged with Grounded Curiosity and can be found on their website under the page The Book ShelfTo celebrate we are highlighting one of their recent reviews, Tribe by Sebastian Junger. Tribe explores the craving for human connections that leaves so many veterans feeling isolated when they return from operations or leave the forces; its author, Junger, is one of the best writers of our time.

This thoughtful review by Jess Ward challenges the reader to put Junger's ideas into an Australian context. It cannot help but make junior leaders think about how they can best support their soldiers on return from deployment or during their transition out of Defence.

This site may have a new home but its content has not changed. It is still one of the best book review sites on the Internet, mostly because the books are reviewed for Junior Officers by Junior Officers.
