US Army launches international survey on the Operational Environment

By The Cove January 8, 2020

The US Army's Mad Scientist Initiative is seeking to expand its understanding of international perspectives regarding the Operational Environment. To that end, they are conducting a short on-line survey and they want to hear your views!

The Global Perspectives Survey will take about five minutes to complete. To find it, go to the Mad Scientist Laboratory blog site and click on the survey link on the sidebar at the right hand side of the screen under the heading HOT!!!

The Mad Scientist Lab team will brief their interim findings at the Mad Scientist Global Perspectives in the Operational Environment Conference on 29 January 2020. You will be able to watch a livestream of this virtual event at: www.tradoc.army.mil/watch (note: this link will not be live until the conference).

You can also subscribe to the Mad Scientist Laboratory blog site and watch for their post in February describing the outcomes of the survey regarding potential Operational Environment trends, challenges, technologies, and disruptors.

So follow the link and let's make sure the US Army hears the viewpoint of the Australian profession of arms!

It's good that the US Army wants to hear the world's opinion about the Operational Environment. Casting such a wide net breaks official thinking out of the box. One big problem is screening out hostile trolls who would skew the results.
