Major Richard Thapthimthong is an Infantry Officer who is currently the Brigade Major of the READY Brigade – the 7th Combat Brigade. His participation in formation level manoeuvre is inclusive of 7th Combat Brigade’s experience through the Integrated Sea and Land Series into Ex HAMEL 2018 and again through the Joint Warfighting Series of 2019 which culminated in Talisman Sabre where the Brigade provided the Opposing Force for the exercise.
Captain Holly Godwin is an Education Officer currently posted to Recruit Development Wing, Army Recruit Training Centre, Kapooka. She was the Training Development Officer on AACAP in 2018, delivering accredited and non-accredited training to Indigenous community members in the township of Yalata, South Australia as part of the AACAP contingent with 17 Construction Squadron.
Dr Richard Fletcher is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London (Qatar). After more than 20 years living and studying in China and the Near East (most recently in the Persian Gulf) he has returned to Australia. His specialities include cultural and physical anthropology, geospatial applications, remote sensing, and the use of historical intelligence sources.
Scott Winter AM is currently the Commander of the 3rd Brigade. His most recent appointment was as the CJ-5 Chief Future Operations at NATO HQ Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan, where he was responsible for developing and advising Afghan operational planning. Immediately prior to this deployment he served as the Director Soldier Career Management – Army, where he was privileged to lead a great team focused on developing the soldiers and building the teams to win the next fight.

We are based within the Future Land Warfare Branch (FLW) of the Head Land Capability (HLC) Division. Our team collaborates with a diverse network of academia and industry to advance Army’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, quantum technology, robotics, and autonomous systems.
Richard Armitage is currently an ARES officer with HQ FORCOMD Aviation Branch. Formerly an ARA CH-47D Chinook pilot, he also worked as an Aviation Safety Investigator with the Defence Flight Safety Bureau (DFSB, then DDAAFS). Richard is currently employed by Toll Aeromedical as a Pilot and Safety Officer on the NSW Ambulance contract.
Patrick is currently a SERCAT 5 Medical Technician working as an Intensive Care Paramedic in the civilian health system. Patrick started his career in pre-hospital medicine as a Medical Technician within the Australian Regular Army undertaking multiple postings including operational service as a Company Medic.
