Here is the latest from the Australian Army Research Centre Seminar Series:
Brigadier Ian Langford, DSC and Bars, is a highly experienced Army officer who, in this seminar, provides detail and fidelity to the concept of Accelerated Warfare: a framework for thinking about how the enduring nature of war and its rapidly changing characteristics in this age of social media, artificial intelligence and contemporaneous conflict and competition. In this fascinating presentation, Brigadier Langford provides some chilling insights into the future of the world in the next two generations, including the impact of demographic changes and climate change on the world's international system which is rapidly changing from a values based order to one where individual national interests are dictating how the peace is won, or lost. His deconstruction on how artificial intelligence, facilitated by cloud technology and commercial applications, can be used to seek out specific people based on physical characteristics is both fascinating and frightening.
