Over the period 24-27 November 2021, the Solomon Islands experienced civil unrest including riots and demonstrations. To support the Solomon Islands Government, ADF and Australian Army personnel deployed at short notice on Operation Lilia.

Personnel from the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment were given the short-notice task to deploy to assist in the stabilisation and peacekeeping efforts. Lieutenant Patrick Omodei, commanded a platoon from Support Company during the initial stages of OP Lilia. His experiences are detailed in the video below.
