In April we conducted a special CoveTalk featuring Dr Richard Miller who presented his iRest Workshop at Legacy Chambers in Sydney. You can view his CoveTalk below and find his The iRest Program For Health, Healing, Resilience, and Well-Being

Dr Richard Miller is Founder, Executive Director and President of the Integrative Restoration Institute, a PhD clinical psychologist, author, researcher, yogic scholar and spiritual teacher.

In this CoveTalk Richard describes powerful, yet simple, tools developed for and used by the U.S. Military to promote resilience, well-being and healing of PTSD. iRest is an evidence based guided meditation protocol developed at the U.S. Army’s Walter Reed Army Hospital. In June of 2010, iRest was endorsed by the U.S. Army Surgeon General and the Defense Center of Excellence as an approved complementary and alternative medicine. iRest is used at over 80 military bases in the U.S. and Canada and by thousands of people worldwide across diverse populations, including health centres, schools, community centres, yoga studios, correctional facilities and hospices.

iRest has a wide research base for healing, resilience and well-being, sleep disorders, PTSD, chemical dependency, chronic pain, depression, anxiety and related disorders.

This CoveTalk is highly recommended for anyone working in the mental health, rehabilitation, individual well-being or pastoral care fields. It is also of interest to anyone who wants to know more about self-care and resilience.
