The Centre for Australian Army Leadership (CAAL) is pleased to release the CAAL Leadership Quarterly - edition 2, following the Chief of Army’s inaugural CAAL Leadership Quarterly.

The second edition, available in the pdf link below was written by two contributors, Corporal Lee Newham - 2 RAR & Member of the Australian Army Junior Leader Fellowship, and Major Andy Hargreaves - Army Knowledge Centre - Army Headquarters. There are also two book reviews, written by Lieutenant Sam Cox and Major General Chris Field.

We have chosen to publish two articles, with potentially conflicting views on leadership, seeking to generate discourse around the topic. We look forward to your feedback.

The Leadership Quarterly is published periodically by the CAAL to inform and promote the Leadership, Character and Ethics debate in the Army. The views expressed in the Quarterly are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Australian Army.

Leadership training in the Australian Army

Furthermore, there are a number of resources on Leadership, Character and Ethics available on the CAAL intranet site such as excellent quick and long reads, videos, reading lists and doctrine.

Additionally, the CAAL have been working hard to produce the Australian Army Leadership Programme (AALP) podcast series which will also be made available via The Cove early in the New Year. Make them part of your NY resolution!
