The U.S. Army War College has generously shared this security and strategy primer: 'U.S Army War College Guide to National Security Issues Volume 1: Theory of War and Strategy' with the Cove audience. This 2012 version covers the theory of war and strategy in three parts:
- Strategic Theory
- Instruments and Elements of Power
- Strategic Interests and Considerations
Whilst the document is very comprehensive and potentially overwhelming to some readers, it is cleverly divided up into 23 manageable chapters so that each subject can be tackled individually. There are also chapters dedicated to both air and sea theory providing some exposure to the joint environment.
