Joseph Moormann

Joseph Moormann joined the Australian Regular Army in 2001 and was allocated to the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps. Upon completion of initial employment training as an Operator Administrative, Captain Moormann posted to various Land/Forces Command units such as Headquarters 1st Division, Land Headquarters, 2/14 Light Horse Regiment (QMI), 1st Signal Regiment, Headquarters Army Logistic Training Centre, 3rd and 6th Battalions of the Royal Australian Regiment and more recently to the Army Personnel Support Centre as the Company Sergeant Major. During this time Captain Moormann promoted through the ranks to Warrant Officer Class Two, before commissioning in 2018 to Captain.

Captain Moormann has represented the Australian Army as part of an exchange with the British Forces in 2004 and has deployed on Operations to the Middle East, Operation Catalyst (Kuwait and Iraq) in 2006 - 2007 as part of the 1st Joint Movement Group and more recently on Operation HIGHROAD (Afghanistan) as the Chief Clerk of Task Group Headquarters in 2016 - 2017.

Captain Moormann has been awarded the Soldiers Medallion for exemplary service to Land Headquarters, the Meritorious Unit Citation for his contribution to 1st Joint Movements Group service whilst on Operations in the Middle East and more recently the Commander Joint Task Force 633 Bronze Commendation for his noteworthy achievements as part of Operation HIGHROAD. Captain Moormann has also been awarded the Australian Active Service Medal, Operational Service Medal – Greater Middle Eastern Region, Iraq Campaign Medal with Clasp (International Campaign against Terrorism), Defence Long Service Medal, Australian Defence Medal and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Medal. Captain Moormann is currently posted to the 3rd Combat Service Support Battalion as the Future Operations Officer.
