Biography
Peter A. Milani

Peter Milani is a Senior Robotics Engineer and former Australian Army Officer.

He is currently focused on Machine Perception and Autonomy at Emesent Pty Ltd, a spin out from the CSIRO Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group. He currently is responsible for drone perception for the CSIRO/Emesent/Georgia Tech team in the DARPA SubTerranean Challenge Systems Track.

He spent 13 years in the regular Army as a RAEME and RAAC officer, spending the most time working with tracks in the 1st Brigade.

Upon leaving full-time service he worked for BHP, completed post-graduate study, and for the past seven years has been focused entirely on building professional mastery as a Roboticist. He has developed a number of agricultural, mining and consumer robots for various clients in Australia.

He enjoys a good technical read, hacking on interesting problems, and playing ukulele to his young family in the Brisbane hinterland.
