Originally presented in 1988 at the US Air Force Academy through the thirteenth Military History Symposium, this collection of essays and commentaries examines the transformation of the military intelligence community due to World War II. Precipitating international willingness to share intelligence on an unprecedented scale, the period of 1939-1945 was therefore characterised by a revolution in intelligence collection and cooperation. The concurrent (and subsequent) acceleration in technological advances also markedly influenced growth of the military intelligence community, leading to a previously unseen level of acceptance in operational circles that persists today. A revelatory insight into the development of military intelligence in the 20th Century, The Intelligence Revolution is a valuable resource for a deeper understanding of modern military intelligence and its ongoing role in contemporary warfare.
