This book examines Australia's actions in the Pacific War to defend Malaya and Singapore during the Second World War. Australia's principal contribution was the 8th Division, however their performance was bedevilled by poor command decisions. They did however, display stubbornness in positional defence, effective and flexible small unit tactics and leadership, skill and determination in close quarter combat. The loss underlines Australia's strategic dependence on our allies.

Not all Army History Unit publications are currently in print. Defence employees can contact aahu.library@defence.gov.au for information about available publications. The Australian Army History Unit’s publications are also commercially available.

Hi,
I'm an Army Reserves soldier looking to locate available Australian Army History Unit’s Australian Army campaigns publications for developmental and recreational reading.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I am able to pay for these if available.

Thanks and Regards
