Director, Terrence Malick. (170min)
Thin Red Line is based on a book of the same name and - with a huge line-up of famous actors – explores the competition between peace and war. Director Terrence Malick fought in the Guadalcanal campaign and brings authenticity and vulnerability to some of the most hardened characters. Malick magnificently conveys the inner dialogue of some of those fighting through voice overs and poignant conversations among friends. As the film progresses, each character faces their own challenges and confronts the reality of war. Thin Red Line was nominated for seven Oscar Awards when it was released in 1998 and is still considered one of the great war films.
