Concept of Operations Brief

By The Cove July 30, 2017

The Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Brief is defined as 'a verbal statement on how a Commander intends to conduct a task accorded by their higher Headquarters¹.' Delivery of a CONOPS may be accompanied by products such as a Decision Support Overlay or Decision Support Matrix.

As a Staff it is important to understand the detail your Commander will need to provide as part of his CONOPS brief as some of this will be the information provided by the Battle Operating System experts within his Staff.

Watch this demonstration of a CONOPs brief as well as reading Combat Brigade SOP 3.3 Operational Correspondence, Orders, Back Briefs, Rehearsals and After Action Reviews (only available on the DPN) in order to develop a deeper understanding of the CONOPs Brief.
