Cove Conference Sydney: Reflective Practice with Joe Read

By Joe Read June 6, 2019

The inaugural Cove Conference was held at Victoria Barracks, Sydney on the 30th of May 2019. The theme of the conference was 'Effective Decision Making' and the aim was to provide Professional Military Education to junior leaders from across the Australian Army.

The first presentation was from Captain Joe Read, a British Army education officer, who set the scene with a talk on 'Reflective Practice'. This highly interactive presentation contains a host of practical tips that will allow you to develop as a member of the profession of arms through regular reflective practice. Well worth a watch.

A copy of the reflective journal used in this presentation can be found here. The reflective journal can be used for this presentation, as well as the other Cove Conference presentations that will be released over the coming week.

I had an officer and 4 NCOs attend the recent Cove Conference and they thoroughly enjoyed the event. Presentations such as this one and the adolescent Mind really grabbed their attention. Well done and thanks for contributing to the the professional development of our people.
