Leadership

Speaking When Angry

By Tom McDermott December 29, 2016

This blog article caught our eye last month when it was shared on Twitter by both Brigadier Mick Ryan (DG TRADOC) and Major General Gus McLachlan (COMD FORCOMD) on the same day.

In this short 5 minute article, the Military Leader discusses the issue of anger in leadership. He gives a series of tips to avoid allowing anger to cloud your leadership style, and looks at when it isn't (and when it is) appropriate. These certainly chime with the experiences of the Cove Team. At the end he poses some questions worth considering.

The Military Leader is a blog run by a US Army officer with 15 years experience and multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. He started the site to specifically focus on improving leadership ... both in the military and civilian life. Worth checking out some of his other posts.
