Lieutenant Colonel Dean Kachab entered the Australian Regular Army in 2005 and has since held a number of technical, staff, and command postings. His regimental career has included postings in Headquarters Combined Arms Training Centre, 1st Aviation Regiment, 9th Force Support Battalion, most recently as Officer Commanding the Logistic Support Company, and in Army Headquarters’ International Engagement Cell. In 2018-2019, he served as Officer Commanding of the Force Support Element in the Middle East. He is a graduate of the French War College’s Command and Staff Course and is presently posted as the Chief Engineer of Army’s ARH Tiger Helicopter.
