Wing Commander Keirin Joyce is an Aerospace Engineer who has specialised for the last 20 years in Army and Air Force Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) including deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Keirin is a life-long learner, recently completing a PhD in engineering studying emerging technology prediction. He has been the Chief of Army Scholar, the Sir Richard Williams Fellow and the Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellow. For his efforts in his field he was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2012 Honours List.

Keirin is married to Rae, an educator, they have four children, including their son Declan who is serving in the Royal Australian Navy. He is the President of the ADF Drone Racing Association, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and on the Committee of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
