This unit will provide you with a brief, yet detailed and insightful account of the most important terrorism and counterterrorism-related aspects in a post-9/11 era. Over five topics, this unit will cover the conceptual complexity surrounding the definition of terrorism and the understanding of counterterrorism policy and practice; explores why terrorism is so hard to define, what counterterrorism entails, and how effective counterterrorism policy and practice is deployed.
