Steven Cleggett is a Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineer (RAEME) Officer currently appointed as Commanding Officer, 7th Combat Service Support Battalion. He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, has instructed at the Royal Military College-Duntroon, was a Career Adviser at the Directorate of Officer Career Management-Army, and fulfilled staff appointments as Military Attache to the Special Operations Commander - Australia and as the S4 at Headquarters 16th Aviation Brigade.
LTCOL Daniel Lee has served in the Australian Army since 1999 initially as a rifleman in the Army Reserve, and then in the ARA in the Royal Australian Signals Corps from 2005. He has deployed to East Timor, Afghanistan and the Middle East Region and has held command roles as a Signals Troop Commander and as Squadron Commander of 105 Signals Squadron. His most recently Army Headquarters posting has been in Capability Development.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Queensland and a Masters Degrees in Strategy, Security and Defence Studies from UNSW and ANU.
About the author: Jack Jones is a junior officer in the Royal Australian Corps of Transport. He is posted to 35 Water Transport Squadron, 10 Force Support Battalion where he has been employed as an Operations Lieutenant and Troop Commander. A career highlight for Jack was commanding the Amphibious Beach Team during the tactical amphibious lodgment of the Blue Force into Exercise Hamel 18.
Tim Coulter is a Captain in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. He was posted to 8th/9th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment in 2018 where he was responsible for raising the Battalion's Rehabilitation Platoon. He is currently working in Suva, Fiji embedded with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. His previous posting was to the 1st Brigade Headquarters. He knows the medical rehabilitation system well after a shoulder reconstruction in 2015 and is passionate about supporting soldiers as they rehabilitate.
Jack Gregg has served in the Army (Royal Australian Infantry Corps) for 46 years. He has deployed seven times on both peacekeeping and warlike service operations, and has worked at Defence Science and Technology Group since 2000. He currently manages a Pool of analysts who deploy around the globe in direct support of current ADF operations. Lieutenant Ryan Abil is posted to 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry) where he is employed as a Troop Leader within a Cavalry Squadron. He has a Bachelor of Science, majoring in chemistry and geography. A highlight of his career was attending the centenary celebrations of the Battle of Beersheba.
