Tips for New Platoon Commanders

By The Cove December 20, 2021

Our 'tips' series for personnel marching-in to key positions has been very popular. Already, we've released tips for Commanding Officers, Sub-Unit Commanders and Regimental Sergeant Majors. We're aligning these with AKC's Command Handbook series. In this article we're collating our resources for new Lieutenants and Troop/Platoon Commanders. In what is our biggest collection so far, here's some links to our content for those officers undertaking their first appointments.

AKC have also produced a Command Handbook for Lieutenants which can be found below or on Army Doctrine Online.

When you complete your time as a Troop/Platoon Commander consider writing to us at The Cove so we can update the above list with your lessons that will benefit not only young leaders coming out of training, but also the people they lead and Army's capability.
