Biography
Cate Carter

Major Cate Carter is an Intelligence Officer and Higher Degree by Research Coordinator at the Australian Defence College. She has served as the J2 on three operations, worked in the United Nations Department of Political Affairs, and was Deputy Director-Army at the Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics. She is co-founder of the Military Organisation and Culture Studies Group and the ADF Creative Arts Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Grad Dip in Management, a Master of International Relations, a Doctorate in Military Sociology and is the only female graduate of the Defence PhD Program. She has published two book chapters and 26 articles on civil-military relations. Cate has been on pay group five for 17 years.
