Both of these VC recipients were wounded multiple times which eventually led to being invalided back to Australia, but not before they undertook acts of the bravest kind, like throwing back bombs as if they were cricket balls.

Jack Mackey was awarded his VC in WW2 where his actions saw him pay the ultimate sacrifice for his country. Bob Mactier who, through his own individual actions in WW1, allowed his unit to be ready for the Battle of Mont St Quentin.
