This video, produced by ALPC, provides an explanation of 'Course of Action Development' (COA Dev) – one of the five steps of the Military Appreciation Process (MAP).
As Staff, you may be required to contribute towards developing COAs. This may include creating and developing the manoeuvre concepts, or creating concepts within each of the Battle operating Systems (BOS) to support the COAs. It is important that BOS specialists have representation when COAs are developed to ensure the plan can supported, thus ensuring the COA meet the test of FASD – Feasible, Acceptable Suitable and Distinguishable.
