Formed in 2019 and based in Canberra, the Centre for Australian Army Leadership (CAAL) is the ‘centre of excellence’ developing leadership, character and ethics initiatives within the Australian Army. CAAL is responsible for delivering the Australian Army Leadership Program (AALP) across all promotion courses. Jim Marett served as a Tunnel Rat in Vietnam with 2 Troop 1 Field Squadron RAE from June 11^th 1969 to June 11^th 1970. He is President of the Vietnam Tunnel Rats Association, and in 2014 was awarded an Order of Australia Medal by the Governor General of Australia for his work with war veterans, in particular for his work with the Tunnel Rats.

Lachlan Mahon is an Officer Cadet at the Australian Defence Force Academy. With an academic background in Genetics as well as Business Management, he maintains a keen professional interest in the intersection of science, technology and the profession of arms.
