Paul Nation is the Principal Engineer within Joint Logistics Command. He began his career as an Army Apprentice vehicle mechanic and has served as a maintainer, instructor and engineer across Defence. He is passionate about maintenance and engineering history including the lessons we can learn.
Warrant Officer Class Two Nick Korfias enlisted in the Australian Regular Army in January 2005, where he served in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (RAR). His 20 Year career has seen him serve in 8/9 RAR & 7 RAR, with other postings to the School of Infantry, Combat Training Centre – Jungle Training Wing, and the Royal Military College – Duntroon. He is currently posted to Headquarters 9 Brigade.
Douglas James Edward “Geordie” Lavers‑McBain, founder of Black Dragon Kai, has pursued martial arts since 1985, earning 37 Black Belts and instructor qualifications across diverse systems. With a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership, he has shaped Army Combative Tournament safety and rules since 2017, coaching martial arts at Gallipoli Barracks.
Warrant Officer Class Two Kevin Rogers, began martial arts in 1989 at age thirty, first training in Zen Do Kai while operating clubs in Darwin and Townsville. A former Military Self Defence Instructor, he is now Lead Instructor of the Army Combatives Program at Gallipoli Barracks, competing in Jiu Jitsu and Combatives to exemplify combat mindset.
