Greg Colton is an infantry officer with 18 years’ experience in both the British and Australian armies, including operational service in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Pacific. Greg has had range of regimental, instructional and staff postings and recently took a years’ sabbatical to accept a Research Fellowship at the Lowy Institute, Australia’s leading international policy think-tank.
Matthew Johnson is an officer in the Royal Australian Corps of Transport, currently serving as PMV Troop Commander, 9th Transport Squadron, 3rd Combat Service Support Battalion. He previously served as the OpsO of a Battlefield Clearance Team while OpsO of 6th Transport Squadron.
Aleesha Shimeld is the Psychology Manager for Joint Health Unit – North Queensland. She is a clinical psychology registrar with 18 years’ experience in Defence mental health, initially in a uniformed and now in a civilian capacity. Her professional interests are performance psychology, trauma interventions, and providing culturally sensitive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members. Aleesha enjoys the role of psychologist due to the chance to support people on their worst days, and to help them achieve their best.
