The main purpose of instructional design is to create learning experiences that ensure participants are engaged and achieve the learning and performance objectives that have been established. In this course trainers, facilitators and learning designers will develop the skills in the application of the cognitive and motivational strategies that designers use to ensure that the learning experiences are memorable and impactful.

This unit should provide basic skills in Java programming and software design, with no assumed knowledge of programming. It covers the topics of object-oriented (OO) programming concepts, data flow, control flow, arrays, and the basics of sorting and searching algorithms. This unit is for students from all disciplines to establish skills or understanding of a design process using a set of design notations and design rules, and shows how to develop a correct, readable and reusable solution from a problem specification.

This unit explores issues related to organisational structural form, human behaviour and the management of people in organisations. It allows students to examine different perspectives on managing people and designing organisations, and to understand the determinants of interpersonal and team interactions in organisational environments. This unit is for students from all disciplines to develop their understanding and management of human behaviour within organisations.
