Major Thomas Basan enlisted to the Australian Army in January 1980. As a soldier and non-commissioned officer, Major Basan served in the 2nd/4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment and the Special Air Service Regiment. On commissioning, Major Basan commanded paratroopers in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (Parachute) at platoon, specialist platoon, and company. Major Basan is a graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College and the Army Technical Staff Officer Course. He has also gained a master’s degree in systems engineering.
Ashleigh Broad is a Quality Manager at Joint Health Unit – North Queensland, where she leads initiatives to enhance service delivery and optimise health systems. With a background in allied health, Ashleigh is currently completing a Master of Public Health at James Cook University. Ashleigh has a passion for data-driven decision-making and how that can be used to better serve the health unit’s dependency.
LTCOL Luke Condon is a Royal Australian Corps of Transport (RACT) officer currently posted to Headquarters Joint Operations Command. His logistics experiences within the ADF have been primarily at the tactical and operational levels, combined with exposure in working with international militaries on postings and operations.
Major Robert Powell enlisted in the Australian Army in 2002 and commissioned as a General Service Officer in 2013 after graduating from the Royal Military College, Duntroon. He has extensive experience in command and staff roles across the 2nd (Australian) Division and combined arms environments.
